Is Now a Bad Time to Buy a Gaming PC?

Hey everyone! I'm 16 and currently saving up for a gaming PC. Prices for GPUs in my area have been climbing, and I'm wondering if this is really the worst time to buy. What are the minimum CPU and GPU pairings I can get that will run games smoothly at 1080p 60fps on high or medium settings without needing an upgrade too soon? Any advice would be super helpful!

If you're aiming for 1080p at 60fps, a GPU like the 3060 should work fine for most games. A 3070 might give you some extra headroom since some games are heavier than others. For CPUs, pretty much any modern one should be good enough. Don’t overthink it too much; just get a decent setup and it'll last you for a while!

This isn't the worst time ever, but it’s not great either. The crypto boom made GPUs crazy expensive, and prices for RAM have soared recently too. If you find something good, you might want to buy it soon. Just be aware that PC building prices fluctuate a lot.

Honestly, it’s not a great time to buy a PC right now. Prices for GPUs are at their highest in years. What’s your budget? Knowing that would really help in giving better recommendations.

My budget is around $600 to $700. I could keep saving, but it’s tough to put away money. I also have a PS5 but want to play some exclusive games on PC. Getting 60fps on high settings at 1080p is my goal.

It's definitely not the worst time in history to buy a PC, but prices are still pretty steep. You might want to consider models like the RX 7600 XT or the 9060XT, as they'll offer decent performance. Just be mindful that component prices might go up again soon, so if you find a setup that fits your needs, it might be worth pulling the trigger.
