Hey everyone! I just got a new motherboard that has two 8-pin connectors for the CPU, but my PSU (which I bought in January) only has one 8-pin connector. I'm using a Ryzen 5 7600 paired with a 7800 XT. I've read that one connector might be enough if the CPU isn't too power-hungry, but I'm not sure if my CPU qualifies as "less powerful." Do I need to get a new PSU, or can I safely use what I have?

While you don’t technically need the second 8-pin connector, make sure your 700W PSU is a good quality unit. Not all PSUs are created equal!
Your motherboard can operate just fine with a single CPU connector, which is typical. The extra connector is mainly for overclocking, where more power would be needed. As long as your system runs smoothly with the single connection, you're all set!
You really only need one 8-pin connector. Most CPUs, including yours, will never require the second one, even under load. Just plug it in and you should be good!
You can absolutely just use the primary 8-pin connection; it can deliver up to 384 watts peak. Your CPU's power requirements are below that, so no need for a second connector.
You'll be fine with just one 8-pin connector! Even if you overclock, the Ryzen 5 7600 will generally pull less than 120 watts, so a single connector should cover it without any issues.
