I'm currently using Lubuntu for my tasks, especially Blender, but I've been running into issues. My Lubuntu setup keeps crashing when I try to render images, and there are some annoying compatibility problems with my touchpad, like the zoom gestures and right-click not functioning properly. I'm considering switching to Pop OS since I've heard it's better optimized for software like Blender, although I know it requires more RAM. I have 8GB of RAM on my laptop right now. Should I stick with Lubuntu, try Pop OS, or maybe look for another OS that performs better with Blender?

I think you should definitely give Pop OS a try in live mode first to see how it performs for you! Just keep in mind that Pop OS is currently using the Cosmic desktop environment, which is still in alpha, so you might run into bugs. But honestly, switching distros doesn't usually affect performance much in Blender on Linux. I'd also recommend checking out Fedora as it’s known for stability and performance too. With 8GB of RAM, you should be fine as long as you're not running too many heavy applications at once.
What do you think makes Windows better for Blender rendering? I’ve had experiences where Blender freezes on Windows while rendering, even though it plays videos smoothly at the same time. Is Windows just better at managing resources, or what?
