I've got a bit of a dilemma here. I know a certain .exe file is a virus, but I'm wondering if I can run it using Wine on my Linux system. Will the virus only affect the Wine environment, or could it still potentially harm my entire PC?

Don't worry, there's no such thing as a stupid question! Honestly, I'm not entirely sure if running a known virus through Wine would be safe, so I wouldn't take the risk. If you really need to run that file, maybe consider doing it in a virtual machine instead. Also, I'm curious—why would you want to run a file you know is infected?
