Is SMTP Relay Down for O365?

Has anyone noticed recent changes in Office 365 affecting SMTP relay? I have about 50 printers set up to use our MX record on port 25, and all of a sudden, none of them can scan to email anymore. This issue is happening across multiple locations. If anyone has insights or solutions, I'd really appreciate your help!

Honestly, I’d suggest considering using SMTP2Go instead. Relying on direct send isn't very reliable in the long run. Many users have faced issues with it unexpectedly breaking down, and it's not worth the hassle. SMTP2Go could give you a more consistent experience.

You might want to check if basic authentication is required now. If your printers are set up to send emails directly without user accounts, that could be causing the problem. It might be worth looking into this to see if it aligns with the issues you’re experiencing.

Thanks for the tip! I didn’t realize changes could affect that setup. I’ll check it out.

It’s possible that the option for direct send has been disabled for your account. You can follow this guide to enable or disable direct send for Microsoft 365. Sometimes service settings get updated, which could impact your printers.
