I've been noticing an icon on my menu bar that keeps popping up and disappearing. After some research, I found out it might be related to remote management. This started after I believe my dad downloaded an app called SunloginClient, which is known for remote access and is from China. He told me that it's normal for SunloginClient to be automatically downloaded sometimes, mentioning something about Java programming, but that just doesn't sit right with me because I'm not very tech-savvy. Can someone with more knowledge confirm if this is typical behavior? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Based on what you described, it's not normal for SunloginClient to be automatically downloaded. That app can indeed let someone monitor your activities on your Mac, so it's good that you're being cautious. You might want to uninstall it just to be safe.
Honestly, your dad saying it's normal for that app to pop up like that is a bit concerning. I don’t know much about computers, but even I can tell that sounds sketchy. You might want to change your passwords and check for other suspicious activity.
Haha, love the MAC = Mysterious Alien Creature image! But back to the point, make sure you check your security settings and see what permissions that app has. Keeping your Mac secure is super important!
