Hey everyone! I'm thinking about leaving behind my troubled years with Windows to try Linux, but I'm completely new to it. I'm looking for advice on where to start. I've heard that Fedora Workstation could be a great option for me, but I'm concerned about my current software. I mainly use Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Blender, and Toon Boom. I know Adobe doesn't officially support Linux, which makes me hesitant to switch. I'd love to transition away from Adobe if possible, though.
My main activities include: drawing, 2D animation, 3D modeling and rendering, 2D & 3D compositing, video editing, gaming (like Cyberpunk, RDR2, and modded Minecraft), coding, and game development (I really want to create my own game!).
As a Linux beginner, I would appreciate any suggestions regarding distributions, workflows, tutorials, forums, or general tips. Also, any advice on keeping my computer secure (like antivirus recommendations) would be great! P.S. I'm French, so feel free to reply in English too. Thanks in advance!

Absolutely! For most of what you want to do, Linux is great. Blender runs smoothly on Linux for all your 3D needs. For video editing, you might want to check out Kdenlive, which is open-source and also works on Windows. Give it a try before making the switch! As for gaming, many big titles run just fine. Just be aware that competitive games with kernel-based anti-cheat systems might not work.

Thanks for the info! I’m a bit skeptical about paid tools, but if it's a one-time buy like Procreate, I’m open to trying that. Do you have any insights on playing games like CS:GO? I hear it can be tricky because of anti-cheat systems.
