Hey everyone! I came across a 2TB thumb drive online at Walmart for only $18, and it's from a brand called MAOLAI. I'm thinking of using it for my PS5, but I'm a bit skeptical about its legitimacy. Has anyone had experience with this type of drive or know if it's worth the money? Thanks!

Yeah, Walmart's marketplace can be sketchy with third-party sellers. They’re trying to compete with Amazon but lack the same level of oversight. If you do get scammed, Walmart might just shrug it off because they blame the third-party sellers.

Games won't run well, or maybe not at all, on a USB stick like that. Pretty sure it's fake!

For reference, I saw a WD Black 1TB SSD on Amazon for about $65 right now. That's a much better deal for gaming.

I doubt that's legit. Those really cheap drives can deceive your PC into thinking they're 2TB, but you might end up losing data because it's not actually that size. Plus, I wouldn’t recommend using a thumb drive for games since they tend to be slow. Consider an external SSD or an internal M.2 for better performance.

A 2TB USB drive that cheap is usually too good to be true. Most legitimate drives like that tend to cost over $100. If you're looking for something reliable, I'd steer clear of this one.

Exactly! Unless it’s a cheaper HDD, you wouldn't find a real 2TB USB for around $18.
