Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card from an RTX 3070 to something better for 1440p gaming at higher settings. Ideally, I want a card that can tackle modern titles well without relying on DLSS, although I'm okay with using it if needed—I do prefer DLSS over FSR. I also like the encoding features of Nvidia cards, so I'm not really considering AMD options.
I can get a new 5070 Ti for about 800€ here in Slovakia, or I could opt for a used 4080 for the same price. Which one should I choose? Would the 5070 Ti with 16GB be a better buy, or is the used 4080 worth it for potentially better performance? Also, here's a quick rundown of my system:
- CPU: Intel i5 14600k
- MOBO: MSI B760 Gaming Plus Wifi
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 HyperX Fury 6000MHz
- PSU: 1300W Seasonic Focus 80+ Gold (yeah, it's a bit overkill, but I got it for a good deal)
Thanks for any input! I'm a bit out of the loop with GPU shopping lately.

I’d say go for the 5070 Ti! New cards usually have better longevity and performance. It should handle 1440p gaming perfectly, even in some demanding titles.
