I'm upgrading my old gaming system that currently has a 4790k and a 1650. The best deals I can find for a new CPU are a 5600X for $110 CAD or a 5800X for $140 CAD. My setup will include 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and my old 2070 Super. Given this, is the extra $30 worth it for the 5800X?

Just curious, do you already have an AM4 motherboard? That could affect your decision too!
If you've got the budget, I’d go for the 5800X. It’s slightly faster and can help with future-proofing your system a bit longer.
For pure gaming performance, the 5600X should be more than enough, but if you're multitasking—like using Discord while gaming—you'll benefit from the 5800X’s extra power. Overall, if you can spare the $30, it might be a nice upgrade.
Yeah, it really depends on what else you run while gaming. The 5800X handles everything smoother.
Honestly, the gaming performance difference is minimal. If you just want to game and not do much else, stick with the 5600X to save some cash.

No, I don’t have one yet. Looks like it's the cheapest option for me right now.
