Hey everyone! I just bought a 9070XT GPU, but I'm currently using an AM4 motherboard. I'm considering upgrading to a 5800X3D CPU, but I'm wondering if that's the best option. Should I stick with the 5800X3D, or would it be better to wait and invest in an AM5 or AM6 setup for the future?

What CPU do you have right now? I think the sweet spot is around $200. If you can find the 5800X3D near that price, it's worth it; otherwise, get the 5700X3D. If you're about to spend more than that, maybe go for something like a 7600X with an AM5 board and RAM; it should cost around $450, maybe less if you're close to a Micro Center where they have deals.

If I'm close to a Micro Center, what do you suggest I do? I'm really uncertain and have some bottlenecks preventing me from gaming. I got this graphics card as a gift, and I have a Ryzen 7 1800X right now.

If you're planning to stick with the AM4 platform for a while, then yes, the 5800X3D is a good choice. Just keep in mind it's discontinued, so remaining stock could be pricier. You might want to consider getting a used 5800X3D or a new 5700X3D instead. This way, you can hold off on the AM6 upgrade until something better comes out.

If you can grab the 5800X3D at retail price, go for it! But if it's overpriced, I'd recommend the 5700X3D instead. It's a solid alternative that you might like.
