I'm considering upgrading from an AM4 setup to AM5, and I'm debating between the 7600X and the 9600X. My current setup features a Ryzen 5 3500X alongside a dead RTX 3070. Will the combination of the 7600X and RTX 5070 work well together?

Honestly, the RTX 5070 isn't that impressive with just 12GB of VRAM. For 1440p gaming, it might struggle with some newer titles. If you can stretch your budget, the RX 9070 could be a better pick. It's likely worth the wait if you're looking for something that will hold up longer as games evolve.
If gaming is your priority, the 9700X makes the most sense since it maximizes core count on a single CCD. Alternatively, if you’re focused on gaming performance, the 9800X 3D is also worth considering.
12GB is generally enough for 1440p. The people saying otherwise are overemphasizing newer titles. Sure, it’s not overkill, but it should still give a solid performance at that resolution!
