Is the 7800 XT a solid upgrade from a 2070 Super?

I've been having a tough time running some games. To maintain over 100 FPS at 1440p, I've had to drop the settings down to medium or low. I'm considering upgrading my GPU and have a budget of around £450. Is the 7800 XT my best bet for an upgrade? Just to give you some context, I have 32GB of RAM, a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and a 750W power supply.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you're focused solely on rasterization performance, the 7800 XT is a solid choice. However, keep in mind that it may not have as many features as newer cards. If you're open to it, I suggest checking out the 5060 Ti 16GB, which is around £400, or even a 5070, which is about £500 if you can stretch your budget a bit. But if you're strictly chasing raster, the 7800 XT won't disappoint.

Just a heads up, my motherboard only supports PCIe 3, so make sure that will work for you!

Hey! I actually have a system with both the 2070 Super and 7800 XT side by side. From what I've seen, the 7800 XT can be about 70% faster than the 2070 Super. I can share some 3D Mark benchmark results later if you want.

Absolutely, it's a great upgrade! I went from a 2080 Super to a 6800 XT, and the performance boost was incredible, especially at 1440p. You should definitely feel a big improvement with the 7800 XT.
