I found an awesome deal on a 9600X during Amazon Prime Day that's almost half the price compared to buying it in my country. Initially, I was set on getting a 7800X3D, but that would mean spending about twice as much as the 9600X. Currently, I have an older setup (9900K, 32GB 2666MHz RAM, etc.), and I'm really looking for a significant upgrade, especially to tackle my issues with 1% lows in gaming. So, is the 9600X going to be a good enough CPU to pair with a 5070 for 1440p gaming?

Honestly, if you can get the 7600X for a lower price, that might be sufficient, too. Only go for the 9600X if it's really cheap. And have you checked out the 9070? It's pricier than the 5070 but comes with 16GB of VRAM, which could be a game-changer for you.
Yeah, it sounds like a reasonable setup overall, even if you’re aiming for 165 fps in some titles.
I use the same setup with a 4070Ti and it doesn’t bottleneck at all. You're going to be just fine with the 9600X.
It’s not just 'good enough'; it’s a perfect match! You really don’t need an X3D for a solid gaming rig.
Just so you know, CPU bottlenecking can be a concern, but with the latest CPUs, you shouldn't worry too much. The 9600X is a recent model from a top brand, so it should serve you well.
Absolutely, the 9600X is a great combo with the 5070! You'll have no issues at 1440p.
But what if I'm trying to hit 165 fps in some games? Would that still hold up?
