I'm looking into choosing between the 9600x and the 7600x for a budget AI setup. Interestingly, they are priced the same, but I've read that the 9600x is about 15% better and has a lower TDP. This situation seems a bit suspicious to me. Are there any important details I should know about the 9600x before making a decision?

The 9600x has dropped in price recently because it wasn't selling well at its original price. Overall, it's a solid choice now!
Honestly, there's nothing wrong with the 9600x. It's simply a better CPU compared to the 7600x in pretty much every way. If the prices are the same or if the 9600x is even cheaper, go for it!
You should definitely consider the 9600x. There was a time when the 7600x was a good deal because it was cheaper, but now the price difference is minimal. For just a bit more, you’re getting a significantly better CPU!
But better in terms of what workloads? Are there specific tasks where the difference is notable?
