Is the 9950X3D Better Than the 9800X3D for Heavy Chrome Users?

I'm a heavy user of Chrome and often have a ton of tabs open—I'm talking about my RAM utilization hitting around 61-63GB out of my 64GB. I'm planning to upgrade to 128GB in my next build, but I'm curious if switching from a 9800X3D to a 9950X3D processor will make any difference in this scenario. Will the CPU impact my browsing experience when I have so many tabs open?

If you're only focused on Chrome, the CPU upgrade might not even matter much. The 9950X3D and 9800X3D are similar for what you're doing. I actually think focusing on your RAM upgrade is a better move if you're really hitting those limits with multiple tabs open!

Honestly, 64GB should be more than enough for Chrome—unless you're running some heavy background processes. Chrome tends to show high RAM usage just because it keeps pages in memory, but it's usually not hitting the limits. Have you checked your CPU usage? That might be a better monitor than RAM if we're just browsing.

Exactly! I mean, unless you have a ridiculous number of tabs actively doing something, the CPU isn't even working that hard. It's mostly just holding onto memory.

You really don’t need more than 64GB for browsing. Even with a ton of tabs open, most of them are just sitting there. What kinds of things are you browsing, anyway? Just curious!
