Is the AMD Threadripper 1950X Worth It for a Home Server?

I came across a PC featuring an AMD Threadripper 1950X and 48GB of RAM priced at 300 Euros. I'm wondering if that's a fair deal. My plan is to set it up as a home server for PLEX, backups, and running a few virtual machines. Would this setup work well for that, or is there something better out there?

This setup should definitely meet your needs! I've got a Ryzen 5600G with 32GB RAM for a similar setup, and it worked out great for me while being quite affordable.

Wow, you're getting quite the steal for that price! Just be ready to manage the power consumption, especially with such a beefy CPU. But still, fantastic find!

Honestly, I don't think you could find a better deal for 300 Euros! That's a solid setup for a home server without breaking the bank.
