I'm wondering if the ASRock 970 Pro3 motherboard is suitable for the AMD FX-8350 processor. I've read conflicting opinions online; some sources say the VRMs of this motherboard aren't reliable and might fail, while others mention that it should work fine. The official specs say it supports CPUs up to 140 watts and the FX-8350 is rated at 125 watts, so I'm hoping it can handle it. I know the FX-8350 isn't the best by today's standards, but I think it's a decent choice (8 cores at 4GHz isn't too shabby for me!). I want to upgrade without spending too much—around 350 PLN or about $90—rather than shelling out around 1000 PLN ($250) for a brand new CPU, motherboard, RAM, and cooler.

Honestly, you might want to consider looking for a used Ryzen 2600 or 3600 with an AM4 board. It would give you way better performance compared to the FX-8350, which is seen as pretty outdated after all these years. At launch, people found it underwhelming, and time hasn't been kind to it either!

I’m curious, why do you think it’s considered ‘hot garbage’? I get it’s old tech, but I still see some games running fine on it, depending on the settings.
