Is the ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 Motherboard Safe with Ryzen 5 9600X?

I recently bought the ASRock B650M-HDV motherboard along with an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU. After checking reviews, I noticed there have been quite a few reports of 9800X3D CPUs failing. Now I'm worried – is this setup safe? I'm considering returning the motherboard for peace of mind, but I wanted to hear others' thoughts first.

From what I've gathered, the issues with ASRock mainly involve the X3D CPUs, and the 9600X shouldn't be affected. However, just to be safe, make sure you update the BIOS to the latest version. That's a crucial step!

Actually, it’s important to note that there have been reports of failures with non-X3D CPUs too. The 9600X is among those, though the 9800X3D complaints are more highlighted due to its popularity.

Right, BIOS updates can't guarantee fixes. I’d keep an eye on user reports to see if there are ongoing issues.

It seems like you're mostly in the clear as long as you don't enable Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) if you have a potentially affected CPU. Definitely update your BIOS to version 3.25 to be extra cautious, as it addresses some of those concerns.
