I'm upgrading my PC and my total wattage with the new 5090 is around 850W, so I'm looking for a reliable 1200W power supply unit (PSU). It's been a bit confusing trying to find one that has the native 12V-2x6 connector. I found the ASUS ROG STRIX 1200W Platinum, which is priced reasonably at around CDN$252.02 (USD$180). The product page claims it's ATX3.1 compatible and has the native 12V-2x6 connector. However, I've also seen it rated as B+ on SPL's PSU Tier List, and I'm unsure if that's because of a bad sample. Has anyone used this PSU with a high-end card like the 5090? What has your experience been?

If you can, filter for 12vhpwr and pick a well-reviewed platinum 1200W PSU. When you're buying a 5090, don't cheap out on the power supply; it's always better to invest a little more here to avoid issues down the road.
I tried that, but there are so many PSUs with the 12vhpwr connector, and I've heard they're not the best. Isn't the newer rev 2 with the native 12V-2x6 connector supposed to be better?
Honestly, I've had a lot of bad experiences with ASUS products. They tend to cut corners even on their high-end items. I'd suggest looking at other brands instead. There's no real reason to spend money on something that might let you down.
I get that, but can you recommend a specific PSU that matches those requirements? I've seen a bunch in that price range, but they don't have the native connector.

I hate when I end up having to buy a new PSU later on!
