I'm currently using the Claude API on a pay-per-usage basis and usually spend around $60 plus VAT each month. I've heard that Claude now offers a Pro subscription that supports Claude Code. I'm curious if anyone has tried using Claude Code with the Pro plan and if it's suitable for my needs. Claude mentions that the Pro plan is great for light coding tasks under 1000 lines, which concerns me since my project is larger. I work with a React JS frontend and a PHP backend, and I prefer making progressive changes rather than working on everything at once. Plus, I don't tend to work long hours on it—usually a maximum of two hours at a time. Would switching from a usage-based plan to Pro be beneficial for me?

Definitely give the Pro plan a shot! It offers solid value without breaking the bank. Since you’re managing a larger project, it's important to get comfortable with Claude Code. I've been using Claude Max 5X and it's been fantastic for my needs!
Honestly, if you're dealing with a big project that evolves over time, Claude Code on Pro might not be the best fit. It seems like you're someone who could benefit from a lot of context for your tasks, and the Pro plan's 1000-line limit could get in the way when you're making those progressive changes. Using the Reddit search function could help find similar discussions too!
Yeah, totally agree! It sounds like you need something that handles a larger context without those limitations.

Haha, I feel your pain! But seriously, maybe consider sticking with what you have and just optimizing those usage costs instead!
