I'm trying to decide between the Corsair RM850x and the Seasonic Focus Gold V4 power supplies. I've noticed that the inrush current rating on the RM850x is high according to Cybenetics, but I'm not sure what that means in practical terms. Is the Corsair RM850x a better choice considering its inrush current value?

The RM850x is definitely a solid choice! Compared to the Seasonic Focus V4, it's generally considered superior. As for inrush current, anything below 80A is typically seen as low. The RMx series actually has good low inrush specs, so you should be fine.
To be honest, most users don't really pay attention to inrush current when choosing a PSU. Unless you have specific needs, both the RM850x and Focus V4 are reliable options. The RMx series has been a top pick for years, so you can trust it will perform well!
I’m not really sure what high inrush current means, but it seems like it’s quite high compared to others? Some say it’s low, while others think it’s on the high side. What does that imply?
If you're looking for value, there are plenty of A-tier power supplies out there that won't break the bank. The Montech Century II is a great budget option right now!
I've been using the RM850x for a long time, and it's one of the most recommended PSUs out there. Plus, it comes with a 10-year warranty! The built-in protections for inrush current mean you don't need to worry about it too much. The click you hear when starting or shutting down is just the relay doing its job, and it shouldn't be loud at all.
Is that click really noticeable?

But the Cybenetics rating shows it has over 100A inrush—doesn't that sound high? Plus, people are saying the Focus V4 has its own issues and is pretty noisy.
