Hey everyone! I'm currently using a TOSHIBA 1TB HDD and I'm looking to boost my system with an SSD. I've set my sights on the Crucial 1TB P3 Plus, but I'm not entirely sure if it's the best option for my budget of around 60 CAD. Are there any better alternatives out there? If I go with the P3 Plus, is there anything I need to know before making the purchase? Thanks in advance!

The main concern with the P3 Plus is its low write endurance, which means it may wear out faster compared to other options. However, if your usage isn't too heavy, you might never hit the limit. I usually look at around $100 CAD for 1TB drives like the SN7100, but if that's too much for you, the P3 Plus will still be a huge improvement over your HDD—definitely worth it for an upgrade!
You might want to consider the Western Digital Blue drives. They’re not much more expensive than the P3 Plus but offer significantly better endurance—about triple the lifespan in terms of writes. The P3 Plus has a write endurance of 220 TBW, while the WD Blue drives typically have a rating around 600 TBW.
Thanks for the insight! I mainly use my PC for general stuff like gaming and browsing, so do you think that would wear out the P3 Plus in under 2-3 years? I was planning to use it alongside my HDD for file storage. Cheers!
