I'm looking to upgrade my PC and need some advice. Although I have some basic knowledge about PC building, I want to make sure everything is compatible before I make a decision. Currently, I have a GeForce RTX 5060 8GB in mind, and I need to confirm if it works with my existing setup. Here are my specs:

- Monitor refresh rate: 59.94 Hz
- Operating System: Windows 11
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon graphics, 3900 MHz, 6 cores, 12 logical processors
- Motherboard: HP 8906 SMVB motherboard (Erica6)
- Power Supply: 100-240 volts, 18 A, 400W max

I'm currently using an AMD Radeon RX 5500, and both GPUs have an 8-pin PCIe power connector. From what I can see, the motherboard slot looks compatible as well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely consider getting a better monitor and maybe upgrade your PSU along with that GPU. Right now, RAM and storage prices are pretty high, so only upgrade if necessary. If you do, go for DDR4, ideally a 2x8 kit for 16GB or 4x8 for 32GB. As for the power supply, I'd recommend at least a 650W or 750W unit. The RTX 5060 is a great budget option, just remember it’s best suited for 1080p gaming, not 1440p. Also, for storage, aim for at least 1TB and opt for an SSD rather than an HDD.

My monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080, and while it doesn't have variable refresh rate, it works great for me with speeds from 50Hz to 75Hz. I've already got 25GB of RAM and over 1TB of storage, so I'm good there!

You're in luck; the RTX 5060 is definitely compatible with your setup, just double-check the physical clearance in your case. If you're open to alternatives, consider the 9060XT as well. Your current PSU should handle either GPU without needing changes.

Thanks for the tip! My computer is an HP Pavilion Gaming PC, and I’ve got around 10 inches of space lengthwise. Definitely considering both options now!

The recommended PSU wattage for the RTX 5060 is around 550W. Your current 400W might work, but it’s on the edge, especially with the CPU you have. It's crucial to ensure there's enough clearance in your HP pre-built to accommodate the new GPU too. Seriously check that.

I see! The PSU model is pa-3401-2ha. I didn’t realize the specific model was important. The tower is a bit small, but I can fit something around 10 inches long. Thanks for the advice!
