I just bought the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 EAGLE OC ICE SFF 12G Graphics Card, but I've seen some videos suggesting it might not be the best choice. Since 40 series cards are hard to find and more expensive here in Canada, I'm wondering if I should return this one and look for something else, or if it will still perform fine for gaming at 1080p or 1440p with high settings and good FPS. Should I consider a different 50 series card instead?

Gigabyte makes solid graphics cards. The only potential downside with the 5070 is its 12 GB of VRAM. That’s okay for now at 1440p high settings, but some newer games are starting to use more than that. Just keep in mind that while it’s fine now, you might hit some limits down the road unless you upgrade. For the performance it offers, it’s a good choice overall.
I totally get your concern about the VRAM. It’s a bit low compared to the newer GPUs like the 5060 Ti which has 16GB. But if you’re mainly playing games like CS:GO and Siege right now, you should be fine with the 5070. Just be aware that demanding titles may push its limits sooner. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what kind of games you prioritize!
You'll be just fine with the 5070. Don't sweat the videos; it’s a solid card for what you're looking to do. Just make sure your CPU and RAM are up to par, because they play a big role in performance. If you're enjoying games like GTA V and competitive titles, you should get decent benchmarks at 1080p and 1440p. Enjoy your new card!
