Is the GTX 1050 Ti Still Worth Keeping for PC Gaming?

I'm looking to build a brand new computer to replace my old DDR3 setup. One of the main reasons for this upgrade is to improve my graphics capabilities. Currently, I'm using a GTX 1050 Ti and I often play Minecraft and Fortnite on my PS5, but I really want to switch to PC gaming. Given that I have this card, is it worth it to use it in my new build, or should I consider upgrading?

Honestly, the GTX 1050 Ti hasn't aged well. When it was new, it was already a bit slow, and now it's really behind the times. Most modern games will struggle with its 4GB of VRAM. It might still run some very low-end games, but your PS5 will definitely outperform it. If you're planning on upgrading the GPU in the future, maybe you could still use the 1050 Ti for now, but I wouldn't build a new system around it.

I wouldn't recommend it at all. There's no longer driver support for the GTX 1050 Ti, and it's just not suitable for anything but the most basic gaming. What’s your budget for a new GPU? You might find something better for a reasonable price.

Nope, the 1050 Ti wasn't great when it was released, and it's even worse now. It's only really good for super light games or some retro gaming. For anything modern like Fortnite or Cyberpunk, you're going to be disappointed.

It could handle Minecraft if you optimize it with mods like OptiFine, but Fortnite? That’s a stretch. Nvidia stopped supporting the 10-series cards, so it's definitely worth looking into a more modern GPU if you want to play new games.

Thanks for all the feedback! Sounds like I should really consider upgrading. I'm looking at something like the 5060 or 5060 Ti, just trying to budget for that.
