Hey everyone! I'm curious about the Meta Frontend Developer Professional Certificate available on Coursera. Do you think it's actually valuable in 2025? I'm currently studying Computer Science at a top 20 university in India, and I've already tackled DSA and solved problems on LeetCode. I'm really interested in web development right now, and I'm weighing my options between this course and free resources. My main concern is whether this certification would help me land internships or jobs and if it would actually make a positive impact on my resume. Looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks!

I can't comment on the Indian job market, but I can say that in the States, these certificates aren't going to help much. What stands out is real experience! Sure, you can learn from the course, but it’s important to build things and face challenges yourself. I’ve even found that my local library offers free access to a ton of Udemy courses, which might be worth looking into for you!

Thank you so much for this detailed insight! That mindset of learning by doing and only referring to course videos when stuck actually makes a lot of sense. I hadn’t thought of learning that way before. I’ll check if something similar exists here in India or through my college.

Honestly, I don't think these certificates hold much weight on a resume right now. In the US, they are practically seen as irrelevant. You will definitely learn something if you commit to the course, but paying for it might not be worth it. Instead, you could just go through official documentation or other free resources and really get hands-on. That's where the real learning happens!

Yeah, that makes sense. Appreciate the blunt clarity, thanks btw 🙂
