Hey everyone, I just got a notification about the Microsoft Edge "Online Security" extension, and it's the first time I've seen it. I'm not sure whether it's a legitimate warning or something to worry about. My LLM suggested I should remove it, and I do have Malwarebytes Free along with some version of McAfee that came with my laptop. I ran a Malwarebytes scan, and it didn't find any issues. Just wanted to get your thoughts and any advice you might have. Thanks a lot!

Honestly, there's not much to worry about. That notification is just part of the protocol from Microsoft Edge. It's pretty standard practice, so you should be fine!
I'd recommend removing it. It's not exactly malware, but it leans more towards adware that sometimes sneaks in with other software installations that you might not have caught. Better safe than sorry!
