Is the RTX 2080 Ti a Good Option in 2026 for Upgrading from a GTX 1660 Ti?

Hey folks, I'm thinking of upgrading my GPU since my GTX 1660 Ti is starting to lag with the latest games, especially horror ones. Here are my current specs: an i5 11400F CPU, 16GB DDR4 RAM, and a 550W PSU (which I might need to upgrade too). I stumbled upon a used RTX 2080 Ti for a decent price and I'm curious if it's still a viable option in 2026. Should I go for it, or save a bit longer for something like the RTX 4060 or 4070? I mainly play single-player horror games like MADiSON and aim for good frame rates at 1080p or 1440p. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you can grab it for under $200, I’d say go for it! That's a good deal for that card, especially if it fits your budget.

If the used RTX 2080 Ti is in good shape, it should serve you well! My cousin is still gaming with an old 2080 and it's holding up. That said, I'd personally lean towards saving for a newer card, but it's really up to your budget and needs, of course!

Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards the 2080 Ti, but should I be worried about my 550W PSU handling it? Will it be enough?

I used to have a 970 and moved to a 3060, but my 3060 isn't cutting it for smooth performance at 1440p. Honestly, I think the 2080 Ti will struggle too, especially if you're targeting higher resolutions. You might want to aim for something better, like a higher-tier card.

The 2080 Ti far outperforms a 3060, so I wouldn't compare them. It's definitely a considerable upgrade.
