I'm currently using an i5-4460 processor with an older GTX 1060 graphics card, and it's not cutting it for some of the newer games at high settings. I'm considering upgrading to an RTX 3060 with 12GB of RAM in it. However, I'd like to stick with my current CPU since changing it would mean swapping out the motherboard and RAM too, which is a hassle right now. I'm planning to build a new PC in the next year or two. Do you think the RTX 3060 would still perform decently with the i5-4460 on a 1080p 60Hz monitor? I have a solid power supply and 16GB of DDR3 RAM, and I usually play games like CS:GO, Valorant, R6, Red Dead 2, and Cyberpunk. Thanks for any guidance! Excuse my English if it's not perfect.

For 60Hz gaming, your i5-4460 will probably handle most games well enough for now. Just keep in mind that it’s over a decade old, and many future titles will likely need a faster CPU. So while it might work fine for now, it could bottleneck newer games down the line.

Yeah, I get that. It's tough because I wanna make the most of my setup before I upgrade everything else.
