I currently have an RTX 3060 in my PC, but I've always felt like I've never fully pushed it because my old i7 7700k CPU is really bottlenecking performance. I'm planning to build a new PC soon with a Ryzen 9 9900x and want to stick with my 3060 for a couple of years before upgrading. My question is, will the 3060 be good enough for most modern games that I can't currently run above 30fps, especially at 1440p? How significant is the bottleneck between a 9900x and an RTX 3060?

I've got a similar setup and while the 3060 is holding up okay for most games, it does hit its limits with titles like Monster Hunter Rise and FFXVI. Going for 1080p makes it tougher if you want a steady 60fps without using DLSS or frame generation. That said, with some optimization, there are ways to still enjoy gaming without major sacrifices.
If you're gaming at 1080p, the 3060 is a decent entry-level card for modern games, but it might struggle with newer titles on higher settings. You'll likely need to drop settings to medium to hit a stable 60fps in some of the more demanding games, especially those with ray tracing features.
Absolutely, maintaining 60fps can be practical if you're okay with adjusting graphical settings as needed.
