I'm looking to upgrade my PC and I've come across a combo of an RTX 3060 Ti, Asus PRIME B660-PLUS D4 motherboard, and a Core i5 12400F. I've read a lot and honestly just got confused. Can anyone tell me if this setup is good for gaming? Also, I've heard suggestions to go for the TUF GAMING B660M-E D4 instead because the H610 might be better. Is the TUF just a better-looking option without any real performance upgrades?

What current hardware do you have? Also, what's your budget and where are you located? That might help in giving better advice.
It should be sufficient for most games, just lower the expectations for ultra textures since you’re limited to 8GB of VRAM. Try to find these parts used instead of new to avoid overpaying, as they're a few years old now.
Whether this setup works for you can depend on what games you're looking to play and at what quality. It is somewhat dated, but it should handle 1080p gaming with decent settings fairly well.
I had a similar experience where my setup froze during more demanding games. I ended up upgrading to an ASUS Prime Z790 for better stability.

I've been searching for a 12400 for days. It's frustrating how everyone wants to sell them as new when we all know they’ve been used.
