Is the RTX 5070 Ti Good Enough for 3440×1440 Gaming or Should I Go for the 5080?

I'm looking to build a gaming PC capable of running games at a resolution of 3440x1440. So far, I've chosen several components: a Samsung 990 PRO 2TB NVMe SSD, Kingston FURY Beast 32GB DDR5 RAM, a Corsair RMx 1000W power supply, an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, an MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX motherboard, and a Palit GeForce RTX 5080 GamingPro graphics card. However, I'm considering whether I should stick with the RTX 5080 or switch to the RTX 5070 Ti. Any suggestions or opinions on this setup would be greatly appreciated!

If you're prioritizing performance and have the funds, the 5080 is a great choice. But for most gaming needs, the 5070 Ti will do just fine without breaking the bank. Just make sure to pair it with decent RAM and you'll be all set!

The RTX 5080 is definitely worth it for ultrawide gaming. With the number of pixels you'll be pushing, having that extra power will help maintain stable frame rates at high settings. I recommend sticking with the 5080 for the best gaming experience.

Honestly, I think the 5070 Ti should handle most games well. I have a similar setup and get over 150 FPS in competitive games at 1440p. As for RAM, you could save some money by going for a 5600 or 6000 CL36 instead of the more expensive 6000 CL30 since it won't make a huge difference given the X3D processor.

If you're tight on budget, the RTX 5070 Ti is still a solid choice. It's capable of delivering around 100 fps at 3440x1440 in many games. While the 5080 offers around 15% more performance, you could save a good chunk of change going with the 5070 Ti instead. Think of your wallet when you see those power bills too!

Yeah, the 5080 is overkill for that resolution. You'd be just fine with the 5070 Ti, plus it's easier on the budget!

I've got an RTX 9070XT, which performs similarly to the 5070 Ti. At 3440x1440, I get solid frame rates—250-300 in lighter games and around 150 in more demanding ones. The 5080 is nice, but it's not necessary unless you want the best of the best.

Exactly! The 5070 Ti should handle gaming at that resolution just fine for most people.
