I'm eyeing the PNY GeForce RTX 5080 ARGB OC, which is currently listed for $1200 in Sweden (originally $2000), but it won't be available until late January. I'm planning to build my gaming PC that same month. Should I go ahead and purchase it now, even though I'll have to wait? Alternatively, I've been considering the 9070 XT priced between $700-$900 instead. Most other RTX 5080 models are priced from $1300 to $1500, while the 5070 Ti is around $900-$1100. What do you think?

I'd say just check the prices in January closer to when you're ready to buy. The 9070 XT at $700 is a solid deal, but definitely don't focus on the higher end of that range. Wait it out a bit and then make your call.
If your plan is to game in 4K, then the RTX 5080 would be the way to go for better performance.
If I were you, I'd lean towards the 5070 Ti too. You'll save a lot and it's still a great card for gaming.
Honestly, I'd just go with the 5070 Ti. The performance difference compared to the 5080 is pretty minor and you'll save a chunk of cash.
Honestly, that $1200 price on the 5080 seems like a decent deal, especially since it's generally higher elsewhere. If you can swing it, go for it!
Check out that Zotac RTX 5080 listed on Amazon for around 1056 euros if they ship to Sweden. But keep in mind, that's pricier than $1200!
Yeah, that seems way more expensive than the $1200 deal you're looking at. Might not be worth it.
I'd pass on it. Other options are better priced right now.

Yeah, with VRAM prices going up, I wouldn't hold off too long either.
