Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my GPU since I recently got a 1440p 240Hz monitor. Currently, I'm using an RX 6900 XT, and I want to maximize my performance.
I found a SAPPHIRE Pulse RX 9070 XT for around 680 euros (about 800 dollars), while the RX 7900 XTX is priced at 870 euros (around 1020 dollars). There's also the RTX 5070 Ti available for about 860 euros.
I'm leaning towards the 9070 XT because it seems like a solid choice, but my friend who has either a 5080 or a 7900 XTX insists that I should invest in the more powerful option, despite the higher cost. To be clear, I'm not really interested in FSR or ray tracing features; I just care about getting straight-up performance.

No way! The 9070 XT is where it's at, especially for its features. I own a 7900 XTX and I've thought about switching to the 9070 XT. Honestly, the 5070 Ti might be the best option out there, but it doesn't justify being 200 euros more than the 9070 XT for what you get.
I agree, the 7900 XTX is a good card, but it's only 2-3% faster in regular gaming compared to the 9070 XT, and it lags behind in ray tracing. Plus, it doesn't support FSR4, so unless you're doing specific tasks that need all that VRAM, I’d go for the 9070 XT instead.
Honestly, I don't think the RX 7900 XTX is worth the extra money for most games. The 9070 XT is likely to perform better in many scenarios. While the 7900 XTX might be about 5% faster in standard performance, the 9070 XT offers better ray tracing performance and useful features like FSR.

Exactly, it's more than just a slight difference! It’s about what you get for your money.
