I'm waiting on an RX 9070XT that I secured for $620. However, a friend is selling his RX 7900XTX since he just bought a 5090. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth returning the 9070XT to get the 7900XTX, and at what price should I consider it? I was thinking about offering $500, but I'm unsure if I should go higher or lower. I know the 9070XT has better ray tracing and upscaling, while the 7900XTX has superior raw performance and larger VRAM. I'm primarily gaming at 1440p with titles like Warframe and Stellaris, so demanding performance isn't a huge factor. What price makes the 7900XTX a better choice over the 9070XT? Also, how much do warranties and RMA support play into this decision?

It's true that the 9070XT may still outperform the 7900XTX in certain games, so it really comes down to what you play most. If you're happy with the feature set of the 9070XT, it might be better to stick with that unless you need the extra VRAM for something specific.
Performance-wise, both cards are pretty close. The 7900XTX does consume more power though, which is something to think about. If you're considering buying it for $600, I’d probably stick with the new 9070XT. At $450 or $500, the 7900XTX starts to look more appealing, but don't forget the warranty issues with second-hand cards.

Plus, the XTX doesn't handle ray tracing as well, so that's another factor!
