Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to spend an extra $100 to $200 on a used Ryzen 5700X3D, especially since I only play Overwatch and Counter-Strike 2. I'm not into AAA games at all. What's your take on this?

Yeah, if the 5700X is around $150 and the 5700X3D is hitting $250 to $350, I’d say skip it. It’s not a wise investment. If you’re near a Micro Center, check out their bundle deals—they might offer better value for your money.

If you’re already on AM4 and have a GPU you like, I’d lean towards the 5700X. I upgraded from AM4 to a 5700X with my 9060XT recently and have seen no FPS issues in Overwatch 2. It really comes down to your budget, though.

Think about your current setup. Upgrading to the 5700X3D costs a lot, but if you're considering selling your AM4 components, switching to a B650 and getting a 7600X could give you similar performance at a better overall value. The 5700X3D does have better low FPS, but the 5700X makes more financial sense, depending on what you currently own.

Production of the Ryzen 5700X3D recently ended, causing prices to spike. Honestly, it's not worth the extra money; you could get a new CPU like the Ryzen 7500F or 7600, along with a motherboard and RAM, and switch to the AM5 platform instead.

I found a used one for about $200. Do you think that's still too high?

Counter-Strike 2? You could probably run that on a computer from 15 years ago!

It all depends on what you’re looking for. Have you checked out AM5 bundles? A 5600X with a GPU upgrade could be more beneficial. Here, AM5 starts at around $250, and selling your AM4 setup might only cost you an additional $75-$100. If your GPU isn't the best, that upgrade might make more sense.
