I'm thinking about upgrading my setup from an older Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 2060 to something better, especially since I'm now gaming at 1440p. Initially, I considered the AM5 platform but it would mean investing in DDR5 RAM and a new motherboard, which feels a bit too pricey right now. So, I'm leaning towards the Ryzen 7 5700X since it seems like the best value in the AM4 range. My big question is whether pairing the 5700X with the 9070XT might cause any performance issues, or if that's a solid combo. Any advice?

There's a good chance it won't be as problematic as you think. Performance will depend on the game you're playing, but for the most part, the 5700X should handle the 9070XT fine. Check out this video comparing CPUs, it's pretty informative!
At 1440p, you should be just fine with that setup! It's a good match, and you won't see much of a performance drop.
There could be some bottlenecking, but it shouldn't impact your experience majorly. If you're looking for balance, you might consider stepping down to the 9070 and using the saved cash to get a 5800XT. It’s just slightly better for gaming, and you'd have a more harmonious system overall. I'd avoid pairing anything higher than the 9070 or 5070 with your 5700X or 5800XT.
I think that's bad advice. Why downgrade your FPS just to get a slightly better CPU that won’t really boost your frame rates?
You'll be totally fine! No AM4 CPU will dramatically outperform the 5700X for your needs, especially since you're gaming at 1440p, which is likely what you'd prefer to do with the 9070XT.
In most scenarios, the 5700X shouldn't bottleneck the 9070XT significantly. You're in a good spot with that combination!
That’s really reassuring. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for the suggestion!
