I've been using an Intel i7 14700 with an RTX 5070 Ti for about a year now, and I'm considering making the switch to AMD for the first time. Is the Ryzen 7 7700X a worthy upgrade from my current setup, or should I be looking at a higher-end CPU instead?

Switching from the 14700 to the 7700X might not be worth it. The i7 is comparable or even better in gaming for many titles. If you are really set on switching, consider something like the 9800X3D, but be aware you'll need a new motherboard and possibly different RAM too.

Right? You might be better off selling your 5070 Ti and upgrading to a 5080. This current setup should last you a while, especially until the new 6000 series comes out.

Honestly, I'd recommend looking at something better, like the X3D series. The i7 14th gen is already a pretty high-end CPU, and switching to a 7700X might not give you the performance boost you're looking for.
