I'm building a new PC and I'm trying to decide between the Ryzen 7 9700X and the Ryzen 5 9600X. Currently, I'm leaning towards the R7, but it costs an extra 150 AUD. My GPU will be a 5060 Ti with 16 GB of RAM, and I plan to upgrade my components in the future. The R7 seems like it offers better future proofing, but I'm skeptical if the price difference is justified. I'm also eyeing the 7800 X3D, but that's starting to slip outside my budget range. I would really appreciate your insights!

Honestly, if you're mainly gaming, the R5 9600X will do just fine. The performance difference isn't huge for gaming, especially with the 5060 Ti, so you might save some cash sticking with the R5.
The R7 is definitely better for future-proofing, but if you're on a strict budget, the 9600X should be adequate for gaming. Just make sure your cooling is good, and you'll be set!
Good to know! I just want to make sure I won't regret saving the money in the long run.

Exactly, the 5060 Ti won't be bottlenecked by either CPU right now. Focus on getting the R5 and maybe saving for that upgrade later!
