I'm curious if the Ryzen 7 9800X3D works well with the RTX 5070 for gaming, especially at 1080p and 4K resolutions. Will this combo lead to any performance bottlenecks, or is it a solid match?

Technically, yes, the RTX 5070 will be a bottleneck. But it's not a huge concern. Most builds face bottlenecks in some capacity. If your goals align with your setup, you should be fine!
I’m using this setup at 1440p, and while the RTX 5070 does hold it back a bit, it still performs pretty well. Just keep in mind, it struggles with ray tracing—so if that's important to you, be wary!
This combo works, but you could probably do fine with a slightly less powerful CPU if you're planning to game at higher resolutions. It will become more GPU-dependent as you move to 1440p or 4K.
At 1080p, you should be good! But for 4K gaming, you'll really want to prioritize a better GPU. This CPU-GPU combo feels a bit off-balance for higher resolutions.
There’s always some kind of bottleneck in any build, but the combo is still solid. If you’re open to it, the 7800X3D with a 9070 XT might give you better results—what resolution are you aiming for?
I’m mostly focused on 1080p and maybe some casual 4K gaming.
You should definitely check out performance reviews for the games you play the most. The 9800X3D is powerful, but depending on your budget, you might want to consider a less expensive CPU and invest in a stronger GPU instead. It really varies based on the resolution you're targeting first.

Thanks for the insight! I’m mostly into competitive games, so the ray tracing might not matter too much.
