I'm new to Linux and considering Fedora Cinnamon for my first OS because I like the interface and the update cycle for new gaming hardware. However, I'm really not a fan of firewalld and absolutely love gufw for its simplicity. I'm looking for a firewall that's just as straightforward as gufw and supports outbound traffic blocking. It's essential that it's officially supported by Fedora, meaning I'd prefer to avoid installing from any sketchy repositories. I'm also contemplating other distributions like Mint LMDE or OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, but I find myself leaning towards Fedora. Any suggestions?

OpenSUSE does use firewalld by default too, just like Fedora. I remember that gufw was available in Fedora's official repositories in the past. Have you double-checked that? Might be worth a look!
There’s also a firewalld package for Cockpit that may be helpful if you’re not totally set on gufw. It could provide a user-friendly interface for managing your firewall settings!
You might want to check out OpenSnitch; it's a pretty solid output blocking firewall and is packaged for Debian. Not sure if it’s available for Fedora yet, but it could be worth investigating!
I don’t think it’s in Fedora repos yet, but it’s a good option if they add it!

I searched for gufw and confirmed it’s not in Fedora’s repos. I found some discussions around the topic, but I just can’t decipher the code snippets. I really want to avoid installations from unofficial repositories.
