I'm in a bit of a bind because my organization insists that I keep using the old OneNote for Windows 10, but I've heard that Microsoft is cutting support for it after October 14th and it's going to be read-only. I really need it to keep syncing with the cloud for my work. I've tried looking into this, but it seems like I won't be able to stop updates from the app, which might mean I lose syncing capabilities. Any suggestions? Also, if this isn't the right place for this question, please let me know where I should ask instead!

Honestly, it's best to adapt to the latest version. Continuing to use outdated software poses security risks since you won’t get any updates. Plus, good chance that support for Windows 10 is ending soon too. If your org doesn’t get with the times, they might not be setting you up for success in the long run.
Why not just switch to the new OneNote? I've found it pretty effective, and it's being updated all the time, unlike the old version.
That’s what they said about the new Outlook too! A little skeptical about how smoothly things will go.
Is your organization really only relying on you for this? Just explain to them that it’ll be read-only soon after October 14th. They might reconsider if they understand the limitations you’ll face.
Yeah, but the old OneNote just feels more reliable. I’m not sure the new one can deliver the same experience.
