I'm looking for a single-piece stereo, radio, or clock-radio-style system with built-in speakers and internal storage for music, audiobooks, and other audio files. It should play saved files directly, without requiring CDs, SD cards, or other removable media. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular connectivity, and any other wireless transmission are not acceptable, and I'm not looking for an iPod or typical portable MP3 player. Does a device like this exist, either currently or as an older model?

The combination of internal digital storage, built-in speakers, and zero wireless hardware is uncommon. Devices with storage usually come from the portable media-player or digital-jukebox market, while clock radios and stereos generally use CDs, USB drives, or SD cards instead.
An older all-in-one boombox with a cassette deck avoids wireless connectivity entirely. It won’t store digital files internally, but tapes can hold a reasonable amount of audio and the system is self-contained.
Older digital jukeboxes or standalone media players may be worth searching for. Some have built-in speakers and internal storage, but many use SD cards or USB drives instead, and newer models often add Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
A CD boombox that supports MP3 files is probably the closest simple option. You can burn many hours of audio onto a disc and leave it in the player, although it doesn’t meet the built-in-storage requirement.
