Is There an AWS Solution for Document Management After WorkDocs?

I'm researching Document Management Systems (DMS) and recently found out that AWS WorkDocs is no longer supported since it reached end of life on April 25. I'm wondering if AWS has an alternative DMS solution or if WorkDocs is just rebranded into something else.

Nope, they dropped WorkDocs because it just didn't cut it. It wasn't very user-friendly and was often compared unfavorably to services like OneDrive and Dropbox. So, it seems they are steering clear of offering a DMS for now.

AWS doesn't offer a managed Document Management System right now. However, you can create your own solution. For instance, there's this case study from Liberty Mutual, where they built a scalable and cost-effective DMS using AWS services. It's worth checking out if you're looking for a custom-built option.

You might want to look into Alfresco on the AWS Marketplace. It’s a solid alternative that could meet your needs for document management.

Thanks for this! I used Alfresco a few years back and liked it.
