Is This $2500 PC Build for My Friend Good?

I put together a $2500 PC build for my friend, which includes the 7% tax. They're getting the CPU, motherboard, and RAM at Microcenter, so those parts won't change. I'm looking for feedback from the community to ensure everything is solid. My friend wants a case with RGB fans, whether they come included or separately, and the storage needs to be at least 3TB since they'll be gaming at 1440p. Peripherals aren't part of the budget as they plan to choose them at Microcenter. They also prefer the aesthetics of the ROG motherboard despite it being pricier. Here's the part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gHPdRV. Let me know if you have any questions about the build!

I think your build is looking solid! But for that motherboard priced at $270, have you considered dropping it in favor of a less expensive one? The bundle with the $630 setup already has a good motherboard. You could potentially save money and use it to upgrade your RAM to a 64GB kit if you want more performance.

My friend specifically wanted the aesthetics of the ROG motherboard, which is why I went with that. I'll keep your RAM upgrade suggestion in mind!

Upgrading the RAM might be overkill for gaming though; I’d stick with what you planned if she’s not using it for heavy multitasking.

Honestly, the bundle isn't the best deal with that pricey motherboard. You might want to consider getting the 9800X3D bundle instead or building without the bundle for a lower-cost motherboard and RAM. Plus, it’d be better to choose a cheaper AIO cooler. The 9800X3D works great even with an air cooler, but if RGB is a must, look for budget AIO options. Also, no need to buy thermal paste separately since the cooler includes some, and you might find better alternatives than Arctic Silver 5.

I appreciate the tips! I chose the ROG for looks and RGB is a consideration for the AIO. I'll definitely scout for cheaper options.

The build looks solid, but I would suggest swapping out the thermal paste for Thermal Grizzly’s Duronaut — it's the top choice for thermal transfer! Also, consider a high-quality SSD like the Acer Predator GM7000 4TB for excellent speed and responsiveness. I’m a fan of minimalistic cases with RGB, like the Montech KING 95 PRO; it’s a great choice, but that’s subjective!

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll share the SSD with my friend — she might prefer quality over brand. And I totally agree, that case looks awesome!
