I'm considering purchasing a PC for $450. Here are the specs: it has an Intel Core i7-8700K processor running at 3.7GHz, 32GB of RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, and a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. I'd like to know how well this setup can run games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Grand Theft Auto 6. Any insights?

Buying this for $450? It's almost like burning that money! But on the brighter side, it's possible to find worse deals.

Not really! The 8700K is still worth about $300 CAD new, and the 1080 Ti is one of the best GPUs from its generation. For 1080p or 1440p gaming, this rig should do just fine.

Honestly, for those specs, I wouldn’t pay more than $200-$250 based on condition. Just be cautious not to overpay.

This feels like complete robbery at $450. Seriously, please think twice before diving in.

I wouldn’t call it that. The 1080 Ti can still hold its ground among current cards.

I recently built a system with similar specs, and it cost me about $300. However, I only have 16GB of RAM. At $450, it seems reasonable but be aware that it might struggle with newer AAA games. I can't say much about GTA 6 since it’s not out yet, though.

True, but the 1080 Ti, while older, can still handle most modern games at 60fps or more, so it's not all bad.

It really depends on where you're buying it from, but if you can check it out first, you might have a great deal on your hands. For $450, that's a steal! Just make sure it's in good shape before you commit.

The 1080 Ti is a solid GPU. I upgraded from a 1050 Ti, which could manage games like Red Dead 2 and Cyberpunk at lower settings. As long as you’re okay with not having the best graphics, this setup should perform well. Just a heads up, that 500GB SSD fills up quickly—consider getting a 1TB hard drive later if you need more space.

I have an 8700K paired with a 3070, which is pretty close in performance to the 1080 Ti. I can run games at 1440p without issues. If the PC is well-maintained, you could even overclock the CPU to 5GHz, which would be great for 1080p or 1440p gaming.
