Is This AMD Ryzen 5800X3D Deal Too Good to Be True?

I'm considering buying an AMD Ryzen 5800X3D that's being sold for just €175. Originally, it was listed for €190, but I negotiated a lower price. I'm feeling a bit uneasy about the deal since it seems much cheaper than usual, and I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed. I've asked the seller about the reason they're selling it and if there are any issues with the CPU, but I'm not sure if I can trust their answers. The marketplace I'm using offers a 7-day guarantee period—meaning I can test the CPU before the payment is finalized—but I'm still nervous. I'd love to hear your advice on whether I should go for it and what checks I should perform once I receive the CPU. I'm typically not very thorough with checks, especially since I usually buy new parts. Any tips on what to look out for?

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But since you have a 7-day return policy, it gives you some cushion. Just make sure to verify that it performs well once you get it. Also, take a look at your local prices to see if this deal is indeed way off the average. If it’s significantly cheaper than usual, I'd be a bit cautious but not necessarily put off.

Yes, the return policy is a big plus, which gives me some peace of mind!

I scored a Ryzen 5800X3D with 32GB of RAM for $220 last month on Facebook Marketplace. The seller was upgrading to AM5 and just wanted to get rid of his old stuff—which is why I think this offer might be legit. Just make sure to check it out within the 7 days. If it runs well and the benchmarks check out, you’ll be golden.

That definitely makes me feel a bit better! It's good to know others have had success too.

If you're just upgrading your rig, I think it could be a good deal, especially if you plan on staying with AM4 for a bit longer. Just be sure to ask for some benchmarks to verify the performance before you finalize anything. If the price is lower than what others are asking online, it raises a flag, but remember, some people just want a quick sale.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll definitely ask for some benchmarks before proceeding.
