Is this EVGA cable safe for my 650 BQ PSU?

I'm looking for advice on whether a specific EVGA cable, part number W001-00-000147, is safe to use with my 650 BQ PSU. I need an extra PCIe 8-pin (6+2) cable for my upgraded GPU. My PSU is a semi-modular EVGA 650 BQ and I've found this cable on eBay that claims to support various EVGA models including BQ. I'm concerned about mixing cables and potentially damaging my GPU, so I would really appreciate some confirmation or insights from anyone who has experience with EVGA products. Specifically, I want to know if this cable is the correct OEM replacement for my PSU, if the pinout compatibility is confirmed with the BQ series, and if there's a safe way to visually check the pinout with a multimeter before I connect it to my GPU. Any help or verification would be awesome!

Before completely relying on the cable, make sure to double-check the dimensions and wattage requirements of your GPU. Sometimes, even with two 8-pin slots, you might not need the extra cable if the GPU allows for it. But if it specifies the need for both, then go for the original replacement.

Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it. I’ll make sure I check the GPU requirements too.

You shouldn't mix modular cables unless they are specifically designed for that PSU model. So using that EVGA cable should be safe as it’s meant for your PSU series. Just to be cautious, you can use a multimeter to check the pinouts if you're comfortable with that.

Got it! Just need to confirm it all before plugging anything in. Thanks for the advice!

The cable you mentioned on eBay is indeed the original type that comes with the BQ series PSUs. According to EVGA's compatibility page, the 650/750/850 BQ models use the same pinouts as the other series like G2 and G3, so it should work perfectly fine for your new GPU setup.

That’s great to hear! So I can use the eBay cable without worrying about frying anything? Thanks for confirming!
