Is This Gaming PC Build Any Good for a Beginner?

I'm completely new to building PCs and I'm unsure about the components I've chosen. I know the motherboard won't fit in my case, but I can change that easily. Can you guys take a look at my build photos and let me know what you think? I'm looking for advice on compatibility and suggestions for cheaper or better alternatives. What components should I consider changing?

Just to clarify, that motherboard will fit in your case, they're both ATX. Also, yeah, the OS can be quite pricey! You might want to hunt around for better deals or alternatives.

You bet! I’m totally looking for a workaround for that myself.

Regarding the CPU cooler, you might want to think about either a 360mm AIO or a good air cooler. And seriously, your RAM is a bit low for today's standards—go for 32GB at 6000MHz if you can. That GPU is really overpriced, so keep an eye out for better options. Don't forget to use PCPartPicker for checking compatibility; it's super useful!

You can save a decent amount if you swap out some parts! For example, you might want to consider a less expensive case and a different CPU, like the Ryzen 7 9700X if you're not after high refresh rate gaming. Your current motherboard seems a bit pricey, and you could really benefit from getting better RAM; 32GB is the sweet spot for modern gaming. I put together a PC build that offers 17% more performance without breaking the bank; check it out on PCPartPicker if you're interested! Also, consider upgrading your GPU since the one you picked is older and might not give you enough bang for your buck.

That sounds like a solid plan! I've been looking at the compatibility too, and it seems like that motherboard issue might be minor.
